Hello, potential philatelic partners and friends!

My name is Dorin and I\'m a male; Doreen is for females, OK? I was born and raised in Transylvania. Don\'t tell me you don\'t know in which country is that; you are a philatelist, or a postcrosser, strong in geography and history, aren\'t you?

I have been living in USA for the past couple of years.

My focus is on Wild Mammals on maximum cards. Occasionally, I get or create maximum cards with other animals or any other topic. For example, I would love to have at least one with each species of mammals (especially marsupials) from Australia, Papua-NG, etc. For those mammals not yet on stamps– that\'s what personalized stamps are for! I\'ll create some, within budget.

I also collect stamps, but there are millions of collectors who own the other millions of copies of the same stamps, usually. How many maximum cards do you think exist with a certain stamp? How many are collector-created? Moreover, how many maximum cards have personalized stamps? How many were created by you for the enjoyment of the philatelic world, immortalizing you in the process?

Isn\'t RARITY the greatest factor in the value of a collectible item? Certain exceptions apply, of course.

After collecting just stamps for over 35 years, all created by others, I decided I should create :
- my own personalized stamps, from several countries
- my own postcards (even customized with text printed on the back, from winkflash.com, for example)
- my own canceler (postmarking device), approved by the United States Postal Service (USPS); the permit is called MPP– see details below.

On Link (http) you can see my Vlad Dracula personalized stamp from Australia Post, one of the most open-minded postal administrations in the world.

bonsoir dorin,

bienvenue au delcampe. first, let me save you some time with your typing. when using a contraction such as "don't", you do not have to add a hyphen as you do. our english language is tough enough to learn without all those added accents. :wink2: i wish you good luck on your sales here. un bonne WE a vous. :cool2:

bonsoir dorin,

no, non, the correct way is without the hyphen ' / ' . as this " don't ". the apostrophe takes place of the missing letter. i think you might have been hitting the ' / ' instead of your ' shift ' key when typing. this is easy to do if you are a touch typist as myself. un bonne nuit a vous. :wink2:

bonjour dorin,
a very impressive collection indeed. the zazzle one is most unusual and probably unique, eh? it always amazes me the innovation a collector can achieve in the philatelic hobby. it is what makes it so great. :applause:  un bonne WE au vous mon nouveau ami.

I didn't actually type those slashes. They appeared when I copied and pasted from another website.

bonsoir dorin,

in that case, i owe an apology. and your understanding of english is better than expected. i certainly had trouble learning written french as well as speaking it in high school some 45+ years ago. damn i'm getting old. seemed just like yesterday, well, a few yesterdays ago. :gna:
cajun turns 59 this next month. my son's bithday is 3 days earlier. and we always celebrate them together. with the exception for almost 6 years he was gone overseas with the army. and the last one of those in iraq. and that year i thought the celebration would end. but he is home safe now with his family. and cajun is again grateful to life. :rose:

bonsoir dorin,
yes, of my 5 children, he is the only son. but now i have a grandson too. jr's. sister, michelle gave birth to my first grandson this january, little charles. and he is getting spoiled rotten just like his uncle did. even jr.'s wife is loving on him. i think she is ready for a few boys now that she has 3 girls. and i would like a lot of grandsons. i'm tired of being outnumbered in this family. :gna:
